ABOUT ME

I am a visual artist and designer with a deep fascination for gastronomy, materiality, and circularity. My work explores the intimate connection between food and the objects we eat from — how tableware can be more than a silent vessel, but a storyteller of origin, care, and transformation.
I create tableware and installations using residual materials such as eggshells, oyster shells, and pistachio husks, often collected in collaboration with local restaurants in Rotterdam. These natural waste streams become the foundation for tactile, food-safe objects that invite reflection at the table. Through their textures, irregularities, and muted tones, they quietly reveal where they come from — bridging the dish, the object, and the dining experience.

For me, design is a way to question and celebrate our relationship with food. I am inspired by local and seasonal gastronomy, by the cycles of nature, and by the rituals of gathering and eating together. Each project becomes an exploration of circularity and storytelling — sometimes even allowing the plate to be broken, reformed, and reused, continuing its life in new forms.
My practice moves between fine dining, material research, and visual art, always with the same goal: to create moments where the act of eating becomes slower, more conscious, and deeply connected to its origin.
